Halloween Cakes

So I decided to make a Mummy cake for Halloween...and then I couldn't stop! I decided that Halloween is not complete without Mr. & Mrs. Frankenstein!

I'll be making more Halloween cakes this week. Don't worry -- I'll update you!

Happy Halloween!!

Fondant and Gumpaste Graduation Cake

Yeah!! I finished all of the Wilton Cake Courses! I truly had a wonderful time and learned so much! But it's hard always having to set time aside (when you have a baby). And it doesn't bother me that I won't be dragging all of my cake junk to and fro anymore.

Here is the final product!

Happy Birthday Kelli, Katelynn, & Parker

We had a group birthday party for Kelli Robison, Katelynn Newton and Parker Johnson. Katelynn and Parker were both born on Oct 8th and Kelli was born on October 12th. So here's their birthday cake!

I matched their cake to the plates and napkins as you can see! There was also a cute little candle on top of the cupcake...but I didn't take a picture with it on there. I'll see if I can get it from someone else. =o)

Campground Cake

One of the kids in my ward turned 8.. so I made this cake for his birthday/baptism. I had a lot of fun making it! It was good prepartion for all the cakes I'll be making for Parker's birthday. =o)

I posted a lot of pictures so that you can see the details!

The 4-Season's Cake

I'm currently in the 4th Wilton class, Fondant and Gumpaste. My teacher decided to have us make a cake and to decorate it, in 4th's, in order to practice lots of different techniques. While it was a great idea to help us learn, my personal taste couldn't handle this cake. But anyway, here's each side of the cake!

Cupcakes

I made cupcakes for my friend's book party. She wanted to have a fall theme... so I made little pumpkin cupcakes! I think they turned out pretty cute!

Flower Cake

So I decided to make a cake to take to a church "Meet and Greet". I just had issue after issue with this cake. I designed the cake and thought that it would be easy to make. Oh my! That was not the case. Luckily, I stayed calm (if you know me at all, you will know that I'm not really a calm person) and just re-planned the cake (twice). But it turned out great! All of a sudden I just had a simple, little one-tier flower cake (it was supposed to be a stacked two-tier cake). The bottom tier was supposed to have stripes and the top tier was supposed to be the flower part.

Oh yes...and it was supposed to be pink, black, and white. Looks like the only color that stayed the same was the white. =o) The black turned out gray and the pink magically turned yellow. Seriously, I've decided in the future that I will be buying pre-colored fondant called "Satin Ice" or "Choco-Pan". And at some point, I'm going to make Marshmellow Fondant (otherwise known as MMF). So.. as always lots of cakes to make and decorate!!
