St. Patrick's Day Cookies

Well...it wouldn't be St. Patrick's Day without some type of Leprechaun treat. So here they are...

2010 Cincinnati Cake Competition

So I went back to the Queen City Cake and Sugar Art Competition this year. I won 2nd place in the Intermediate Novelty division.

Without further ado, the bridal cake...

(Forgive the terrible photo's).

So the topper was supposed to be two wedding bands. The first one broke while I was assembling it at the competition. So I decided to just use the one ring. Well, after I left, they moved my cake and the second ring broke. So you can see in the picture with the ribbons that it's laying down. (Which they knew that the 2nd one had broken too and wasn't stable. They never should have moved the cake). Oh well.

Cruffles

So I made some Valentine Cruffles! They are really called Cake Balls - but I just don't like the term. So someone coined the phrase Cruffles (since they are cake and similar to truffles). So yep - we are sticking with cruffles!

Valentines Day Cake

Here's the Valentine's Day cake that I made. I originally made it for my friends - I was supposed to have a weekend away with them. Unfortunately, Parker is really sick and there was bad weather on the way - so yep, you guessed it, we canceled this weekend. So guess who's going to eat the cake now? Hehehehe...

Chad's B-day

Well - as it happens, every year Chad gets older, while I get younger. (Ok - maybe I'm dreaming). But anyway, he just had a birthday, so here's his b-day cake. His dream car is a Dodge Viper (yes, he is the dreamer this time). But I thought I'd surprise him anyway.

It's chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and vanilla buttercream. There are some car pictures with a windshield and some without.

Christmas cake

I'm teaching Wilton course 3 this month and so I had to teach them how to put fondant on their cake. I just changed the cake in Lesson 2, to make it look more Christmas-y! And then I gave it to Hobby Lobby to eat! It's crazy, because the class graduates in a couple of days and then I'll be done teaching cake decorating classes. =o(
