Great deal on Christmas Cookie Cutters at Walmart

Go check out the clearanced Christmas merchandise at your local Walmart! I found a great deal on cookie cutters, down the Christmas aisle!  They had lots more clearanced cookie cutters, but this is what I chose to buy!

Note: I purchased the cookie cutters on Friday, December 27th!

I got the Star and Christmas ornament cookie cutters for .37 cents each!

And I got the Santa, Stocking, and House cookie cutter for $1.44. (I already had the stocking, but it was worth it for the Santa and the House cookie cutter).

Thanks for visiting!

And have fun shopping for cookie cutters!

Home made Cream Horn recipe and tutorial!

I love Cream Horns! So I decided to make them myself! It turns out, they are super easy to make and absolutely delicious!

Ingredients:

Frozen puff pastry dough (in the freezer section)

Special Equipment:
Cream horn molds (also called Lady Locks)

This picture shows how tall the cream horn molds are compared to tip 1M and a tip 1.

Cream Horn Filling Ingredients:

1 lb powdered sugar
1 cup shortening
1 tsp vanilla
dash of salt
1/4 cup boiling water

Directions: Mix all ingredients in a blender for about 5 minutes.

Absolutely delicious cream filling! It would also be a great donut filling!

So here goes...

1. Thaw your pastry dough for about 30 minutes.

2. Roll your pastry dough out on a floured surface.

3. Grab your pizza cutter and cut your pastry dough into strips about 1" wide.

4. Grab your cream horn mold and start wrapping the rolled dough around the pastry horn. Make sure they overlap.

5. Lay them on a cookie sheet.

6. Bake at 400 F for about 12 minutes. Remove the cream horns from the mold while they are hot.

7. Let them cool and then fill them with cream and dust with powdered sugar!

Pink Giraffe Baby Shower Cake (Instructions for how to make flat royal images included).

Here's a cake I made for a baby shower a couple of months ago.

It turned out cute; however, the picture isn't great. I ran out of time and just snapped the picture in the box. I figure any picture is better than no picture, right?

Want to know how to make the giraffe out of royal icing? Scroll down, the instructions are right there!

Here's the baby shower invitation that we matched the cake to!

How to make the giraffe out of Royal Icing:

1. Find a picture of the image that you want to reproduce in royal icing.
2. Print the picture and then cut it out. (If you are making several you might want to print and cut several out). I made 4 giraffes and only one survived. They are VERY easy to break!
3. Get a cookie sheet out and lay the image flat on the cookie sheet.
4. Rip off a piece of wax paper and lay it over the image. You will be able to see the image through the wax paper.
5. Pipe the outline of the image onto the wax paper and let it dry. Fill the outline in with the color of your choice and then add the details.
6. When it has dried, it will literally slide right off the paper. You won't even have to try to get it off. (If you have to try to pick it off, it's not dry).

2013 Holiday Give Away: Christmas Light Cookie Cutter

Hello everyone! To get into the holiday spirit, I have decided to do several give a ways this season! The first give away is a brand new, super cute, Christmas cookie cutter. It's a little Christmas lightbulb! However, you could turn it upside down and make a super cute snowman face. The bulb part would be the snowman face and the "electrical part" could be the snowman hat! And I think you could even make bowling pins out of it too! (It's too bad that I didn't buy one for myself. I guess I'll have to go back and get another one).
