Christmas cake

I'm teaching Wilton course 3 this month and so I had to teach them how to put fondant on their cake. I just changed the cake in Lesson 2, to make it look more Christmas-y! And then I gave it to Hobby Lobby to eat! It's crazy, because the class graduates in a couple of days and then I'll be done teaching cake decorating classes. =o(

Turkey pops

I thought making turkey pops would be cute for Thanksgiving. I also thought they would be easy. LOL. They weren't as easy as I thought, but they were cute! And next time, I know what to do.

They are brownies dipped in chocolate and decorated with Royal Icing. Yummy! (Yes, they taste great!)

Thanks for looking!

Kaelyn's B-day

Kaelyn turned 17 in October. I couldn't make her b-day cake though because we were in a car wreck and my neck was messed up for a few weeks. Anyway, I finally had time to make her cake. Here it is!

Missionary cake

I have been so busy teaching Wilton cake classes that I haven't had a lot of time to make cakes. I finally got to make one for a couple that are about to become missionaries for our church.

Thanks for looking!

Elder Jayme is home!

My brother got back from his mission a couple of weeks ago. When he left two years ago, he hung a banner across his door that's very similar to this cake. My sister suggested that I make this as cake, so I did. I'm a little late posting this. He's been home for 2 weeks now.

My brother's 21st B-day!

Jayme turns 21 tomorrow! So we are excited! He is still on his mission so we couldn't celebrate it with him - so instead I mailed cookies to him. Hopefully, he got them and they still taste good.

Side note - he comes home in about 2 weeks. We are starting to get EXCITED!

60 years...

Chad's grandparents just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary! So to help them celebrate, we sent a few cookies. When you hit 60 years, it's the diamond white theme. I didn't want to use silver since that's for celebrating your 25th year. At any rate, my diamond white turned into more diamond gray. Hopefully, they will still like them! And let's hope they get there in one piece!

Missionary Cake

Elder Leithead came home from his mission. He served in the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission for two years. Here's his cake!

As you can see from his tag - he served a Spanish speaking mission.

Bride and Groom cookies

These are the bride and groom cookies that I like to make for wedding couples.

WVU cake

This cake was for a bride and groom who are BIG WVU fans! The mother of the bride wanted to surprise her daughter with a special WVU groom's cake.

Chocolate with vanilla frosting.

Luau Cake with a Tiki Man

Here's my Luau cake and Tiki Man. I decided to match my Tiki man to the flyer that was posted around church. So he looks almost exactly like the flyer. I wish I would have put a few flowers and patches of grass around the neck of the Tiki man...but oh well. There were tons of people around.

Butter cake with vanilla frosting.

The full cake

The sides of the cake (before the Tiki man was put on).

The Tiki man was sculpted out of rice krispy treats. Thanks to my mom who sculpted him!

Cowboy Cookies

My dad had a bday in the middle of July - so we had to celebrate. I didn't have time to make a cake (because of the move and the funeral) so I just made some cookies. He loves to watch old cowboy shows on TV, so I thought this theme would suit him well!

No Fail Sugar Cookies - decorated with Royal Icing.

Jane's b-day cake

Sorry! It's been a while since I have posted anything! This move has just about killed me!

Anyway, Chad's mom had a birthday on the 4th of July. She loves to golf so I made her a golf cake. It had a rough journey - but here's the final product!

Strawberry cake with vanilla frosting!

Wedding Cake

As most of you know, I made my friends Wedding Cake this past weekend! Martha Stewart and Wendy Kromer made this cake and it's featured in her book. Anyway, here's the cake!

Father's Day Cupcakes

I'm a little late posting the picture of these cupcakes, but I made them for Father's Day!

My Agbay

I asked my dad to get me an Agbay for Christmas 2008 and he did! I've just been slow posting pictures apparently! Anyway, here it is!

For those of you that don't know, an Agbay torts cakes perfectly! While it's expensive, it's worth it! The one I have can fit multiple blades. Now you can buy the basic Agbay and add another blade to it. That wasn't available when we got mine...or we probably would have gotten that one. But it's great. I can add up to 12 blades to this one. It's called the "Agbay Deluxe".

The Agbay with both blades showing!

My cake before torting!

My cake during the torting process! (Excuse the PVC pipe that is covering the other blade. Safety comes first! That is the actual protective covering that it comes with).

The torted cake. I set the Agbay for one inch or less.

Wedding Cookies

I decided it was time to do two things! First, make some wedding cookies. Second, make some cookies with fondant on top. So these cookies are not the usual Royal Icing. They are sugar cookies decorated with fondant and then the top part is decorated with Royal Icing.

So here's the deal, I think the fondant looks really nice and clean on the cookie...but I didn't really like the taste of the cookie and the fondant together. But that's just me. Parker would eat them all day if I would let him. He kept begging for more.

Polka Dot Wedding Dress cookies

Cornelli Lace Wedding Dress cookies

Wedding cake cookies (Sorry - these didn't turn out the greatest. The cookies kept ripping and then the fondant was stretching. So they just turned out ok for me).

My B-day

Here's my b-day cake! I made it myself! Chad wanted to make my cake, but since this is what I love to do...I told him that I wanted to make it myself! It's all buttercream (I know, weird for me since I just love fondant!) It's vanilla cake, filled with peach filling, and decorated in vanilla buttercream.

Cupcake Time

I decided to make some Jumbo cupcakes and have a little photo shoot. Here's how it turned out!

Couldn't decide which purple cupcake picture I like more, so I posted both!

Hot Air Balloon Petit Fours

One of the girls in my primary class requested cupcakes with balloons on top. Since she was moving to a different ward, I decided to go ahead and make her special treats. However, I decided that I would do Hot Air Balloon Petit Fours (since I had never made them before). The chocolate frosting is supposed to look a little bit like the base of a hot air balloon. And the suckers are to represent the balloons! Enjoy!

It's a WAVE of color!

And just in case you were wondering...it was not a good idea to give out all these suckers. All of the primary kids from other classes and adults were asking for suckers. I only had the ones that were on their cupcakes. And the kids had all licked theirs.

What do cars, fire trucks, trains, and high heeled shoes have in common?

Nothing...except it was time to make more cookies and I liked them! I made lots of them and took pictures, but I didn't like the way they turned out. So I decided to go with a more artistic picture. The only problem was that I had already packaged the cookies and didn't have time to unwrap them and then wrap them back up. So that being said, sorry if the cookies are a little hard to see!

Car cookie!

Gotta love high heels!

Chugga, chugga, chugga, chugga, choo choo!! (Don't forget to make the arm motions as you read). I think that says it all!

Too bad there aren't any hot firemen in this truck! Hehe).
